“Golden State” is an over all narrative of my time spent in Northern California. I sat on my hotel bed peering out the window over the airport, thinking about all things I had done up there, hiking through the Redwoods, cruising the coast, that Golden state of mind thing;) Some songs I work for but this one poured out quicker than hot syrup on flapjacks. In addition to Elliott’s warm and sincere harmonies; I feel the pedal steel, played by Smokin' Brett Resnick of Nashville, on this track really brings it to life and gives it that little something I was hoping it would find.
